- Remove toothpicks (using fingers, put on tray).
- Pour half the water from the cup (carefully) into the graduated cylinder.
- Remove white beans from cup using the spoon (put next to toothpicks on tray).
- Filter remaining water into the flask.
- Pour water from the graduated cylinder into the flask.put flask on the tray.
- Use spoon to remove the glass from the cup.
- Start the hot plate (remember it is hot). Place flask on the hot plate for 5-10 minutes.
- Use magnet to extract the iron from the cup.
- Remove flask from hot plate (after 5-10 minutes). Use magnifying glass to identify the build-up on the side of the flask.
- Keep the sand in the cup. Place cup next to the other objects.
